The Public Works Department (PWD- GAR) as one of the decentralized departments under the Regional Coordinating Council (G.A.R.C.C.) has a responsibility to provide technical support and assistance to the GARCC. The Department provides technical back-stopping to the Works Department of the MMDAs within the Region to augment its capacity to provide infrastructural developments to the local communities. The Department also extends its technical assistance to other government institutions, agencies and departments including consultancy services. The department asses the Shippers Authority building in Takoradi, power generator, transformer , ring main unit, drain pipes/gutters directed onto roof, weeds growing on top of roof slaps blocking the drains and tv cables scattered on the roof obstracting flow of rain water.
