The Greater Accra Regional Health Directorates concludes that, there has been some increase in some Vaccines (BCG, OPV3, PENTA 3) but a high reduction in Measles Rubella, Yellow Fever and TD2+ Coverage in 2023. This reduction can also be attributed to some shortage of vaccines in the year under review and Low EPI coverage may result from inadequate healthcare facilities, particularly in isolated and rural locations. Carers’ access to immunization services for their children may be hampered by the lack of vaccination centres, especially in remote locations. Again, Low EPI coverage may be caused by an inadequate supply of vaccines or irregular vaccination distribution. The availability and efficacy of vaccines may also be impacted by difficulties in sustaining the cold chain for vaccinations, which calls for temperature conditions for storage and transportation.
