The Chief Director of the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council Mrs. Lilian Baeka, and some management staff of the RCC has paid a courtesy call on the Korean Ambassador to Ghana to discuss issues of mutual benefits between them.
As part of its mandate, the Office of the Greater Accra Regional Co-ordinating Council ensures that Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies are staffed by competent personnel who are well organised to implement government policies and offer excellent client service to its diverse clients.
It is against this background that the Regional Coordinating Council sought to establish a partnership for effective collaboration for the mutual benefit of the Region and the Korean government.
Mrs. Baeka said the areas to be considered should focus on technical exchanges between the two establishments and also look at sister-City relations at the Regional and Municipal level for exchange programmes and educational scholarship programmes for staff and students build on the human resource development we have in the region.
Others included, Infrastructural development, local Economic Development and Investment opportunities.
The Korean Ambassador to Ghana, Lim Juny Taek in his submission thanked the team for the visit expressing the hope that such bilateral visit continues for the mutual benefit of both institutions.
He noted that his country has a lot of programmes aimed at building the capacity of staff in developing countries and would therefore liaise with the appropriate quarters and the GARCC to ensure that everyone benefits.
