GARID Drainage Network Validation Exercise at Ga West

The Land Use and Spatial Planning Authority was task by the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development to provide technical assistance to assess/validate the drainage network maps and database produced by the seventeen (17) participating Metropolitan and Municipal Assemblies (MMAs) under the Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development (GARID) Project.

The team analyzed the spatial data submitted by the MMAs to validate the drainage network maps and identify any gaps or inconsistencies with the ground situation. Also, the team visited the Assemblies to share and discuss the observations, and gave them guidance to help address the gaps and enhance the accuracy of the maps.
