The Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with the Accra Metropolitan officers of the Social Welfare and the Public Health Department organized a training for fishmongers from the Agbogbloshie market to enhance their skills and knowledge. This program also forms part of activities under the Safe Fish Certification Licensing implemented in collaboration with USAID’s Feed the Future program. The Department trained Fishmongers on proper waste management practices, how to prevent houseflies from infesting their fishes, techniques to keep the fishes clean and hygienic for consumption.

The Department of Community Development organised  community engagements at Kewunor community. This is community sited along the coast of the Ada Foah and it has a total population of 1,150 occupants and 820 are males and the 330 are females, the community main occupation is fishing and also the language they speak is mainly Ewe.During the engagements, the Maize Plant activity, the Balloon Game, Child Protection Flash cards, Tug of War, Sack of Stones and Boys and the Circle of Support activity were the tools they used to facilitate the discussion with the community members.The also used Child protection flash cards.
