The Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council in collaboration with the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly observed the 67th Independence parade at the Accra High School Park with Hon. Samuel Tawiah, the Municipal Chief Executive of the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly, representing the Minister for the Interior and Caretaker Minister for the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Henry Quartey.
In all six (6) contingents from the various security services and 11 contingents from the various schools in the region were present for the parade.
Reading a speech on behalf of Hon. Henry Quartey, care taker Minister for the Greater Accra region, Hon. Tawiah called for a collaborative effort from all stakeholders to drive socio-economic growth and create a sustainable living environment in the greater Accra region. By contributing their quota in their respective organisations.
He appealed to Ghanaians to embrace peace in this election to ensure that as a region and a nation we will continue to enjoy the current peaceful atmosphere. Adding that, we should also build consensus on the values we hold dear as a nation in order to transmit same to future generations.
Notable dignitaries in attendance included Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, Member of Parliament (MP) for Korle Klottey Constituency, and Titus Glover, the Regional Minister designate, the Clergy, traditional authorities and the Zongo communities. Their presence highlighted the significance and commitment of key individuals in the region’s development.
