The Department of Education organised a workshop with the support of the Guidance and Counselling Coordinator from other Officers from the Education Directorate for In-school Guidance and Counselling facilitators and a training for Peer Counsellors. The MMDA HRs meet the Regional HR to design. A total of 65 female and 3 male teachers as well as 49 female and 25 male students attended.In-school Guidance and Counselling Facilitators and Peer Counsellors were equipped with principles of counselling, fundamental assumptions regarding counselling, the ability to share in the feeling of clients, the ability to create a warmth atmosphere where clients can expressively share their problems, the ability to listen to and communicate comprehensively and the ability to share personal experiences with clients to encourage them feel free as they share their struggles.
