The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) to develop a Records Management Manual (RMM) and Fixed Assets Management Tool for the Local Government Service.
Accordingly, the Greater Accra Region was represented by the La Dade Kotopon and Korle Klottey Municipal Assemblies, whilst Gomoa East District Assembly and Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly represented the Central and Western Regions in the zone 2 at the Elmina Beach Resort. Ultimately, Korle Klottey emerged winners of the Zone 2.
Subsequently, the winners from each of the zones participated in the National Contest. The representatives were Karaga District Assembly in the Northern Region; Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly in the Oti Region, Bia East District Assembly in the Western North Region and Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region. The workshop and awards programme took place at the Miklin in Accra. The contest was in the form of presentations and centered amongst others on whether the practice is positive to run the Records Management Unit, is applicable to other RMUs and can be regularly implemented in the MMDA, innovative, unique and aligned with the concept of efficiency/effectiveness guided in the RMM, contains procedure, impact, office supplies to use and well demonstrated in the presentation.
Korle Klottey was adjudged the winners of the National Contest, Karaga District Assembly took the 2nd position, followed by Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly and Bia East District Assembly who took the 3rd and 4th positions respectively.
