The Regional Veterinary Office is headed by a Deputy Director of Veterinary and supported by Veterinary Technologist and administrative Officers coordinating and monitoring the work of all veterinary para-professionals in the region.As part of the meat inspection procedure and to provide safe meat for human consumption and protect public health all organs with any pathological condition is isolated, investigated and the appropriate action taken.Stakeholders in the animal slaughter value chain have been sensitised on actions that include but not limited to total condemnation of carcass or organs, partial or local condemnation (trim and pass) of organs). One hundred and fifty-three (364) out the 17,783 animals inspected during post mortem examination showed different pathological conditions.The pathological were not generalize and for that matter, the affected organs were trimmed and the meat passed for human consumption.
