President Nana Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has cut the sod for the construction of a 400-bed Tema Regional Hospital.
The facility includes ear, nose and throat, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Pediatrics, Internal medicine and Oncology departments, clinics, six operation theatres and an Intensive Care Unit.
The rest are an imaging unit, a public health, a pharmacy, a blood bank, a laboratory, a morgue and staff housing and it is expected to be completed in 24 months.
The President performed the sod-cutting ceremony at the start of a four-day tour of the Greater Accra Region yesterday and was accompanied by Hon. Ishmael Ashitey the Greater Accra Regional Minister and his team.
