The greater Accra regional coordinating council on Thursday 16th December, held a training programme for all Metropolitan, Municipal and District information officers and Public Relations Officers in the region.
The program which was held at the conference room of the Regional Coordinating Council was aimed at providing participants with the needed information, knowledge and skills of the campaign on ” operation clean your Frontage” which was lunched by his Excellency the President in October this year.
Opening the program, the Chief Director at the Regional Coordinating Council, madam Felicia Dapaah said the training seeks to equip participants with d requisite know how for a smooth take off of the campaign come February 1 2022.
Additionally it was necessary to engage the mouth piece of government at the MMDA level for them to properly understand d concept and develop communication strategies and sensitization programs to educate citizens.
Madam Dappah called on all participants to rally their support the Greater vision of the Regional Minister Hon Henry Quartey in making Greater Accra Work.
Madam Jemima Lomotey, the Regional Economic Planning Officer, RCC in her presentation stated limited community awareness and appreciation on environmental issues as one of the leading factors to poor sanitation in Accra. She suggested that, MMDA’s deploy systematic approach to sentise stakeholders and also create extensive awareness on bye laws.
Madam Jemima Lomotey concluded her presentation by stating, cleaning and greening of all open spaces and one’s frontage would be made compulsory for property owners of residential, public and private institutions and the citizenry.
This she said would attract tourists and investors as well as promote the well being of the country.
