The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey visited the recently inaugurated Pokuase Interchange in the Ga North Municipality in Accra, where he cautioned drivers and traders operating illegally at open places and along the roads. Accompanied by the Minister of Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Atta, and other officials from the ministry and government agencies, the visit was to engage the drivers of commercial vehicles on the wrong parking of trucks on the median and corridors of road The visit formed part of the Regional Minister’s campaign dubbed “Let’s Make Accra Work” aimed at addressing indiscipline in the nation’s capital and adjoining areas. The Minister stated that the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) have resolved to bring an end to this growing indiscipline in Ghana. He further directed the commercial truck drivers to stop parking their trucks within the road corridors. He noted that the Regional Coordinating Council would ensure the assembly enforces its bye-laws to the letter. He also charged the assembly to expedite work on an allocate land for use by commercial trucks, adding that the Regional Coordinating Council would provide the necessary support to prepare the place within the shortest possible time.
