Regional Minister Meets with Greater Accra Regional Parliamentary Caucus to Discuss Development

As part of his “Let’s Make Accra Work” campaign, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey organized an engagement to unearth challenges confronting the region and to find lasting solutions for them.

 The engagement involved the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) and the Greater Accra Regional parliamentary caucus. Present at the meeting were the regional representative of the Greater Accra Region on the Council of state, Mr. E.T Mensah, Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Divine Otoo Agorhom, and Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Ade Coker amongst others.

Matters such as perennial flooding, the worsening water crisis in the region, traffic congestion problems, illicit drug use particularly among children of school going age as well as the deplorable state of some roads in the region were brought up and thoroughly discussed.

The Regional Minister assured stakeholders that his office would put in place a sustainable plan to address the concerns raised.  He also called upon the Members of Parliament to support the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council to develop plans that would make Accra a modern city.
