Sensitization on Child Protection toolkits.

The Department of Community Development did a presentation on the Child Protection Community Facilitation Toolkits during a two – day training for some religious leaders in the Region organised by the Department of Children, Regional office. The two-day training brought together chiefs and queen mothers, Christian and Islamic leaders to deliberate on ways to utilise religious platforms to change people’s reluctance towards protecting children against various forms of abuse. The training sought to educate and support religious and traditional leaders to harness the relevance of child protection laws and rights in the country. Child Protection sensitization at the Banner of Love Assemblies of God Church-Otinibi premises the engagement was centred on the role of community members in the life of the child; Gender equality and roles; career choices. Child Protection Toolkit was used include circle of support and the Spoon full of life activity.
