skill training on liquid soap

The Department of Community Development in the LaNkwantanang Municipal organised a skill training. The training was  held at Adoteiman, near Danfa. Women from the community and nearby were taken through the production of Liquid soap and bar soap. In all, one hundred and thirty-four (134) female participants were trained in these skills. Resource person from the Department facilitated the entire training.  The Department unit at LaNkwantanang Municipal also collaborated with the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) in order to bolster the businesses of the community groups the work with. The unit introduced three (3) major groups in the municipality, namely the Nyame Adom Palm Kernel oldies, the National Association of Beauticians and Hairdressers (NAHB), and the Ghana National Association of Tailors and Dressmakers (GNTDA) to the agency. Group members were taken through how to benefit from the various business modules, internships and trainings, equipment acquisition and funding opportunities that the agency provides. For instance, the Nyame Adom Palm kernel production group indicated that they needed a palm kernel oil extraction machine since they mostly have to travel all the way to Kasoa to get it done at a great cost. A local fabricator of the machine has been contacted and cost of manufacture determined. Liaising with the GEA, we hope to procure the milling machine for the group.
