The Department of Community Development has conducted a two day skills development training for seventy (70) identified vulnerable women from various parts of the region. The training started on the 10th to 11th May, 2022 at the GNAT hall. The women were selected to be equipped with the skills in a business venture they were already operating in or a new venture they wanted to enter. This was to give them skills to be economically independent.
Training were done in areas such as preparation of Liquid Soap, Bar soap, pastries, making of tie and dye, Bead making etc. vulnerable women in the communities. Participants were also taught how to keep simple books of accounts for their business so that they can use their numbers to secure loans to support their business. All the participants expressed joy for the training and promised to use the skills to better their lives.
