Patricia Araba Quagrainie, the visionary leader behind Quababaa Qollections, a Ghanaian enterprise specializing in unique footwear located at Dome Pillar 2, has a compelling success story. Transitioning from a corporate worker to a successful shoemaker, Patricia’s journey began during the challenging Covid era, leading to the establishment of Quababa Qollection in 2021.

Encountering initial challenges with a manufacturer causing delays and disappointments, Patricia took matters into her own hands. Armed with a single slipper, she ventured into the market, sourcing raw materials and leveraging her technical skills. This marked the inception of Quababa Qollection, evolving from woven foot wears to a diverse range, including beaded footwear, leather footwear, woven footwear, and native sandals (“ahenema”).

Registered as a sole proprietorship with the Registrar Generals Department and Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), Patricia’s business has grown significantly, progressing from a one-person operation to employing seven skilled workers. The expanded product line, driven by increased demand and customer satisfaction, has led to a gradual scaling up of the business and a notable boost in income.

Central to this success story is the pivotal role played by the Ghana Enterprises Agency. As a client, Patricia has benefited from various managerial training sessions, particularly in financial literacy. Participation in a free trade fair show organized by GEA provided a platform to showcase products and talent, resulting in an expanded clientele and market base.
