The Department of Agriculture is mandated to coordinate all agricultural projects and programmes in all 29 Metropolitan, Municipal and Districts (MMDs) in the region through Monitoring, supervision, offering technical training and laying of field demonstrations.
Training and demonstration need of farmers, processors, aggregators, input dealers, mechanical service providers and marketers are gathered through the annual stakeholder meetings such as the Research Extension Linkage Committee and Joint Sector Review meetings organized annually by the Regional Department of Agriculture that bring all stakeholders in the agricultural sector to identify pressing issues that need to be addressed.
Monitoring visit has been undertaken covering the First quarter of the year. District staff, farmers, processors, marketers, aggregators, mechanical service providers and input dealers.
