VRA IN COLLABORATION WITH NADMO DISTRIBUTES RELIEF ITEMS TO THE EVACUATED VICTIMS IN THE SHAI-OSUDOKU DISTRICT.

The Volta River Authority (VRA) in collaboration with the NADMO team led by the Director General and the District NADMO Director Nana Asante Boateng distributed some relief items to the displaced flood victims. This good gesture by the VRA is aimed at alleviating the plight of the victims who have temporarily sacrificed their livelihoods to maintain the integrity of our dam and eventually power the nation.

These rescued victims who are currently taking refuge at the Tokpo R/C School (safe haven) were evacuated from Asilevikorpe, Abuviepong, Adakorpe and Djorkpo.

In all, about One Hundred and Thirty (130) households representing approximately six hundred and fifty (650) victims received assorted relief items.

The items include Rice, Tomatoes, Ayo cooking oil, sachet water, and mackerel tin fish. Each household received 5kg royal aroma rice, 2 pcs (400g) tasty tomato, 2 pcs (235g) mackerel tin fish, and 1 (liter) Ayo cooking oil.

It is worth noting that, the potential victims in the islands who have refused to be evacuated were also given sachet water to help prevent waterborne related diseases.

The flood victims expressed gratitude and appreciation to the team.
