The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation (JICA) successfully developed the new Records Management Manual. Thereafter, two (2) officers, Mr. Alex Gasu from the Eastern Regional Co-ordinating Council and Ms. Portia Tagoe from the Greater Accra Regional Co-ordinating Council were selected as National Trainers to roll-out the Records Management Manual across all 16 regions in Ghana. During the roll-out stage, selected staff from the Regional Co-ordinating Councils (RCCs) were trained as regional trainers. Mr. Walter Anonadaga and Mr. Mohammed Siisu were selected as Regional Trainers for the Greater Accra Region. The Regional Trainers were mandated to disseminate the manual and train Officers of the Records Management Unit (RMU) in all MMDAs in their respective regions.
Consequently, the Greater Accra Region was zoned into 3 caravan, Regional Trainers supported by the National Trainers trained RMU officers from the 29 MMDAs in the Region.
