The President’s nominee for the position of Municipal Chief Executive for the La Nkwantang- Madina Municipal Assembly, Mr. Ibrahim Faila Fuseini has been confirmed at an election held within the premises of the assembly. The ceremony which was witnessed by the Member of Parliament of the area, Hon. Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu saw assembly members not confirming the nominee with the two thirds majority required. In the first round of voting, Mr. Fuiseini secured 13 votes out of the 20 valid votes cast representing 65 percent.
After deliberations behind a closed-door meeting, members of the assembly agreed to enter into a second round of voting as permitted by law. At the end of the process, all 20 assembly members comprising 13 elected and 7 government appointees voted ‘Yes representing a 100 percent endorsement.
