Haruna Mohammed Awal has received a resounding 100% endorsement to become the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ayawaso North Municipal Assembly. His confirmation came during the official confirmation process conducted by the electoral commission at a special Assembly meeting.
Awal, nominated by President John Dramani Mahama, garnered all 18 votes from Assembly Members—comprising both elected and government appointees—in a confirmation exercise supervised by the Electoral Commission. All members voted “Yes,” signaling strong unity and confidence in his leadership.
In his acceptance remarks, Awal expressed gratitude for the trust reposed in him. He promised to work diligently to give the municipality a face-lift, build on the successes of his predecessor, fight crime, and collaborate with the private sector to create employment opportunities for the youth.
