The Accra Metropolitan Assembly has confirmed Michael Kpakpo Allotey as the new Metropolitan Chief Executive for Accra. During the election process conducted by the electoral commission in Accra, the President’s nominee pulled 30 out of the total 30 valid votes cast representing 100 percent to endorse the nominee.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo who spoke after the process called on newly confirmed Chief Executives to lead with vision, unity and with purpose to in driving the development agenda of their respective Assemblies.
She particularly underscored the strategic role of A.M.A describing it as ‘the heartbeat of Accra, stressing that, leadership must exemplify excellence in governance. “Accra can not afford stagnation because people expect results and this starts with strong and selfless leadership” she added.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Allotey expressed his appreciation to the President and promised to restart Accra with urgency and faith. Adding that he would carry the mantle of leadership with humility and determination.
