The Department also partnered the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in the launch of its Tree Planting Campaign at O’ Relly Senior High School on 28th June, 2025 where over three hundred (300) trees were planted and six hundred given out for planting. The campaign runs until 2030 with unique features designed to deepen ownership and responsibility while encouraging individuals to plant trees equal to their age and institutions number of years of existence. The campaign focuses on schools, health facilities and public parks. Other partners included the Ghana Education Service, Forestry Commission, Ghana Health Service, National Youth Authority and civil society organizations.
The Region therefore with support from other agencies and institutions distributed 1,150 seedlings and planted 1,671 trees for the quarter.
