GREATER ACCRA REGIONAL MINISTER OUTLINES 2026 PRIORITIES AT FIRST STAFF DURBAR

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, MP for Shai Osudoku, has outlined her priorities for 2026 at the first staff durbar of the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council (GARCC), held on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

Marking one year since her nomination by H.E. the President, the Minister expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve and commended management and staff for their dedication and professionalism in 2025.

She highlighted key achievements, including the National Sanitation Day exercise, confirmation of MMDCEs, the Streetlight Initiative, Independence Day celebrations, and the Regional Farmers Day celebration. She also mentioned the various capacity-building programs the Regional Coordinating Council organized for MMDCEs, MMCDDs, and RCC staff to improve leadership and service delivery, noting that, the RCC intends training more staff in this regard.

Looking ahead, Hon. Ocloo, announced sanitation and environmental management, lighting up the cityas top priority areas for 2026. She therefore, directed all MMDAs to undertake a special clean-up exercise from January 21 to 24, 2026 as a start up to making the city clean.

The Minister further stressed the need for strong performance audits, effective monitoring of projects, and active staff participation in durbar discussions to support the Presidents reset agenda.

The Chief Director of the RCC, Mrs. Lilian Baeka also commended staff for giving off their best in the discharge of their duties and urged them to continue same so together “We can all support the Regional Minister achieve her aim and make the Greater Accra region a better place”.
